Hello! I'm Deepasha Debnath, New York based UX Designer specializing in creating intuitive and engaging digital experiences. With over six years in the industry, I've developed a strong skill set encompassing user research, interaction design, responsive web design, information architecture, and usability testing.
I've always been fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology, and this curiosity initially drew me toward visual communication design during my undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University. However, during my stint as a Design Intern, I realized my passion was understanding and improving user experiences.
The possibility of enhancing digital experiences by transforming complex tasks into intuitive and accessible designs was exhilarating. This passion led me to pursue further education in UX Design. I enrolled in the User Experience (UX) Research and Design MicroMasters program at the University of Michigan and the UX Design Professional Certificate from Google. These programs helped me better understand user-centered design, information architecture, and usability testing, which I now utilize in my everyday work.
Starting as a Junior UX Designer at San Francisco State University, I contributed to the development of the University's mobile app and improved its usability and navigation.
Later, as a UX Design Intern at the University of San Francisco, I collaborated on a significant UX overhaul of the university's web portal, successfully enhancing user navigation and session duration. This hands-on experience honed my skills in wireframing, prototyping, and executing comprehensive user research.
As a Senior UX Designer, I've led UX strategy on larger-scale projects. One of the notable achievements was the complete redesign of the flagship app using a user-centered approach, which resulted in a significant increase in user engagement and in-app purchases. I've also spearheaded a cross-functional team and integrated usability testing into the design process, which has been key in driving overall user satisfaction.
In addition to these roles, I've volunteered at Techbridge Girls to drive UX enhancements for their website and mobile app, focusing on usability and accessibility. This rewarding experience allowed me to leverage my skills to make a real-world impact.
Through these experiences, I've worked with multidisciplinary teams, navigated complex project requirements, and consistently delivered effective UX solutions. I thrive in roles where I can translate user needs into intuitive and engaging experiences.
